WWVBS and Vegan Nom Grand Opening

Written by

Austin’s participation in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale yesterday was a huge success!  The word clearly got out, as there was a huge crowd at MonkeyWrench Books, and the baked goods were flying off the tables. Well surpassing anyone’s expectations, the grand total raised for Sunny Day Farms was $1,705.02!

In addition to the baked goods, everyone was super excited to try the tacos at brand spankin’ new taco truck, The Vegan Nom. The response was so overwhelming, that The Vegan Nom completely ran out of tacos by 2pm. Luckily, my husband and I anticipated the high demand for tacos, and stopped by around 9am to grab our taco breakfast. The menu did not disappoint, and at $2 a taco, we almost couldn’t resist ordering one of everything.

We love everything about this little taco truck, from its location, to its prices, hours, ingredients and menu. I can’t wait to see what they do with the little seating area around the corner, and they will also be a welcome addition at HOPE Farmer’s Market on Sundays. The Austin vegan scene just keeps getting better and better!
