Nothing. Nothing is in my lunchbox.
Because Wednesday was Veggie Lunch day at work!
Every Wednesday, a few of my co-workers and I take turns providing a vegetarian or vegan lunch for the rest of the group. The group was started before I began working there in an effort to eat better. They’re all very talented cooks and it’s really fun to see what everyone else will make.
Today’s meal was Indian, which was great since Marie’s recent post had given me a hankerin’ for Indian food. We had cabbage with mustard seeds, lentil soup, spicy pickled vegetables, and rice. There was also a yogurt dish that I skipped for obvious reasons. It was all splendid and delicious.
I’ve picked up more than a few tasty and nutritious recipes from veggie lunch and enjoy sharing mine with my colleagues. What does your workplace do to stay healthy?
On an unrelated note, I wanted to celebrate the last day of Oktoberfest with some sausage and beer. I ended up at Banger’s, but upon ordering found out that they no longer have vegan sausage. They’re in the midst of changing over to their fall menu and it’s not clear what that will be just yet. I’m planning to ask them to consider putting another vegan sausage (or two) on the menu. If you feel so moved, pop them an email as well.
